APEM Ltd Crews take our Cold Water Survival course! 

We have been working with APEM crews since 2007 as they grow their aerial survey business. This month saw three of their scientists take our Cold Water Survival course at Newcastle. The day began in the classroom with a series of lectures covering physiology of cold immersion followed by what to do prior to ditching then moving on to dry and wet drills. The afternoon is a full session in the 7m dive tank putting those lessons into practise. 

The course is tailored to the demanding conditions that APEM crews face when they fly out over the North Sea studying bird numbers and flight routes over the aerial arrays that are going up around the UK.

At JM AirCrew Training we have the advantage of being able to respond very quickly with packages drawn up for specialist operations. All of our instructors have many years experience in their particular fields and this is reflected in the excellent feedback that they get.

Based in the North of England, we started running courses for Emergency Services aircrew and specialist commercial pilots in 2004. Since 2009 we are now offering our skills to Corporate and Owner pilots - whether fixed wing or helicopter.  

Our team of instructors are Civil Aviation Authority / IHCD approved trainers and examiners and have a huge amount of experience in all types of Emergency Services, AOC / aerial work operations, both VFR and IFR, fixed wing or rotary.

We use all our experience to tailor the courses to the way that you operate. If you would like to concentate on a particular aspect - such as low level operations - that is exactly what we will do. The excellent feedback that we have had reflects how well we achieve this.

With our flying Courses you have a choice of either travelling to us or let us come to you. Each Course is presented as either a 'turn-key' package whereby you simply turn up and we look after the rest or if it is better for you we will take our courses to your home base and give 'in house' teaching using your own aircraft and facilities.

  So what does this do?..                          What are the hazards?..              Are you single pilot plus 3 pax?  

All of our Courses meet or exceed current UK / European regulations on the Aviation side and follow the 'Best Practise Guidelines' set out by the UK Association of Air Ambulance Charities. We have also had our Aeromedical courses accepted by Northumbria University which can lead to accreditation with them upon sucessful completion.
