Our Air Safety Course is ideal for operators who use ground crews and rear crews on a regular basis. It gives your staff a thorough grounding in airmanship and the aviation aspects of your tasking. Depending on what you need to cover, the courses run from a basic three days through to a full week.

Ideal for:

  • Survey crews - scientists, camera operators, observers.
  • Cabin crew (small jet / turboprop)
  • Media - camera operators, reporters, commentators.

If you or your staff regularly work on aircraft - rotary or fixed wing - this course is just for you. We look at what you are wanting to do and what skills it would be useful for your crews to know -

  • Do they need nav skills to help identify survey areas?
  • Do they need met skills to plan sorties?
  • Will they be working from remote strips with limited facilities?
  • Will they help turn the ac around?

  • Flight Safety - Clothing, PPE, Emergencies, hazards.
  • Principles of Flight - rotary or fixed wing.
  • Crew Resource Management - focussing on your operations.
  • UK Met theory and practical - F215, Charts and internet sources.
  • Navigation - Theory and practical to the standard you need.
  • Legislation - EASA, EU-OPs,JAR-OPs, Aerial work, company SMS or your SOPs.
  • Emergency and Survival - your ac, full dunk tank, aeromedical first aid.
  • Aircraft familiarisation flights - looking at systems, procedures, practising skills. 

Costs:

These vary depending on course content, but a typical full week if we come to work in your facilities would be approximately £600 / head. A decent class size is 3 - 6. 

We charge overnight costs at £65 and travel at 20p per mile.
